PRECISION: A project to protect children online
Project based in València (Spain), promoted by the Universitat Politècnica de València.
PRECISION is an internationally renowned research initiative promoted by the Spanish State Research Agency and the Universitat Politècnica de València. Its objective is to understand, with scientific rigour and an ethical approach, how sexual cyber-violence against children occurs, and how to prevent it before it happens.
The project brings together leading specialists to develop practical resources—the PRECISION toolkit—that support families and child protection professionals, especially educators. It also works to promote reforms that place prevention at the center of child protection policies, contributing to a safer digital future.
71.4% of cybercrime cases in Spain are sexual crimes against children (Ministry of the Interior, 2023).
Our goals
Investigate and understand sexual cyber-violence against children
Analyse how these forms of digital violence occur and how children communicate and are affected in digital environments.
Create ethical and practical tools for prevention
Transforming research into useful resources—such as the PRECISION kit—developed in collaboration with families and child protection professionals to anticipate and prevent harm.
Promote changes in protection policies and systems
Promote legislative reforms and institutional frameworks that place prevention at the center of child protection.
